What is Heal in Heels?

Heal in Heels is a recreational dance class for non-dancers & first timers where we break movements down at a slower pace. It’s a safe place to reclaim your body, discover yourself, try something new & build connection through healing, self-love and dance.

Is it beginner-friendly?

Absolutely! Hence, our classes are two hours instead of the standard one hour to ensure we can break moves down and have ample time to feel confident in our bodies.

Can I join if I’m not a beginner?

Yes! if you’re an intermediate or advanced dancer that is seeking a positive, safe, fun and supportive community, you are more than welcome to come join us! Know class will still be at a slower pace for all of our new dance friends but the love is high impact!

What levels do you offer?

Ultra Beginner:

  • no floor moves

  • simple counts

  • slower pace

Beginner:

  • no floor moves or simple floor moves

  • medium pace

Beginner/Intermediate:

  • 1-2 challenging floor moves

  • medium pace

What are the class sizes?

Classes in Studio 1 = 15 students. Classes in Studio 2 = up to 30 students.

Is this LGBTQ+ friendly?

Absolutely. We welcome anyone who is seeking a safe and supportive community and looking to have a good time.

What classes do you offer?

Heal in Heels: Dancing in heels. Kneepads needed for Beginner/Intermediate levels.

Heal in Sneakers: Hip Hop, Femme & Jazz Funk or Twerk styles in sneakers.

When & where are classes held?

We’re not affiliated with any studios, so follow our socials and join our Facebook group: ‘Heal in Heels’ to stay up-to-date on class announcements, location, and schedule! We host at least 2x classes a month, typically the 2nd and 4th Friday (and occasionally Tuesdays) at Hothouse in Minneapolis, MN.

What about Parking?

If at Hothouse, there is a free street parking all around studio including a free lot in the back of the building. Building name is The Kennedy Building.

Will you host classes outside of Minnesota?

Yes - we are working on connecting with studios and businesses/individuals in each state to help us make it happen!

How much are classes?

$25 for a 2 hour class session where we connect with one another, warm up, learn choreo, and end class with small group filming (optional) that you get to keep.

How do I register?

Visit our classes tab and click the registration links for the classes announced. One registration per student is required to ensure each student has signed a waiver.

Can I get a refund?

Due to various reasons, we are not able to offer refunds or credits. However, you are more than welcome to sell your ticket to another person (this can be done via Paypal, Venmo etc). Please let us know who will be replacing you via email at info@heal-in-heels.com with the subject line: Ticket Transfer (Class Date). Include your name and the name of the new ticket owner.

What do I bring?

Heels or sneakers, knee pads or long pants to cover your knees (not required if you prefer modified moves), a water bottle and good energy!

What do I wear?

Heels or sneakers, knee pads or long pants to cover your knees (if you want to do floor moves), and anything that makes you feel sexy yet comfortable to move and sweat in! Could be a crop top and leggings, lingerie, bralette and bikini bottoms--whatever makes you feel confident! We don’t recommend dresses! What shoes do I wear?

Heels or sneakers are both fine but make sure your ankles are secured! We don’t recommend wedges, or pointed-toe stilletos. No more than 3-4 inch heels recommended.
